Once the trees are cut, a green builder will perform work on your home in a way that minimizes the amount of waste by keeping materials in your home — and out of a landfill. “Every part of our log gets used. There’s zero waste when it comes down to it. It all goes somewhere,” says Craig Seider, director of design services at Expedition Log Homes. The company, which specializes in half-log homes, offloads its byproduct to landscapers to use as mulch.
