Laurentian Log Homes Ltd.
Unique to Laurentien Log Homes' structures is their sophisticated triple tongue-and-groove locking system. It's worth taking a closer look. A joining system specifically designed to minimize cracking, checking and twisting in all log wall styles. Your choice of either saddle-notch or dovetail interlocking corner configurations, both are self draining.
All window and door openings are pre-engineered to compensate for log settling and to add vertical stiffness to the log structure.
Their plansbook of standard models has varied designs including steep-pitched bell roof style, Swiss, ranch, cape cod, mansard, chalet, cottage and numerous others.
Homes are shipped across North America as well as worldwide. A wide range of standard log sizes are available including 6-by-6; 6-by-8; 8-by-6; 8-by-8; 6-by-10 and 12-inch hand-hewn logs using the Canadian full scribe technique.
Adding to the very complete line of timber log packages, Laurentien Log Homes now offers their new ISO-Log series with full timber corners and log siding applied to a conventional 2-by-6 inch frame wall supporting structure with conventional insulation methods.
White pine and cedar are the preferred wood species for log walls. Structural beams are either western hemlock or fir or select grade northern white pine. All materials are graded and manually checked before shipment to the building site.
A through-bolting system is used for hurricane and earthquake areas. Through-bolting is done with 1/2-inch threaded rods and a patented self-tightening nut system.
The company offers a 10 year written warranty on all structural components. Some models have met CMHC, MICC, FHA and VA requirements. A comprehensive installation manual and construction video as well as special metal connectors and plans are included with every kit.
