FIRST PRIZE |
In some parts of the country, getting a new tractor is still cause for celebration. At Pamela and Steven Vias' cabin in Cloudland, Georgia, the feeling was no different. So, everyone posed for a picture?even the oldest family member, Luz Collazo, 88. "She ran upstairs, put on her denim dress and hat and insisted on climbing up to the tractor's seat and posing," says Pamela. "She's priceless, and so was the image." |
SECOND PRIZE |
When Linda and Jerry Albert step onto their deck each morning, they never know what to expect. "Nature paints a different picture for us every day," Linda says. "Some mornings, we're above the clouds; other mornings we're just below them. At night, the skies take our breath away. I'm a transplanted city girl who can't imagine living anywhere else." The couple's Labrador retriever, Brutus, relishes nearby Lake Norris. "He has a very good life," Linda says with a laugh. |
THIRD PRIZE |
Beth Dillon, her husband and kids relish their retreat in the Carolina mountains, a place where the family can "enjoy the outdoors without a care in the world," she says. Lakes and streams are important parts of their lives, and weekends?especially in spring and summer?turn into high adventure for the younger set. "My children will always cherish the days they've spent at our cabin," she says. |
